Regina Stone Matthews

Regina Stone Matthews is an award-winning children’s book author. Regina was born in Columbia, SC. She and her husband, David, moved from Marietta, Georgia to Richardson, Texas in 1992 where they have lived since that time. Regina has three daughters and four grandchildren. She attended Terrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia and West Georgia University in Carrollton, Georgia. 

 

Regina is a member of the North 40 Storytellers Guild, an organization of talented people who are dedicated to the tradition of storytelling. In addition Regina is also a member of the Rockwall Christian Writers Group, an organization of gifted writers who support one another through their journey of writing and publication. She is also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators-Texas North Chapter. SCBWI is the international professional organization for writers and illustrators of children’s literature. Additionally, Regina is a member of First United Methodist Church Richardson and Director of the Woman’s Center in Richardson.

  • Words and Actions – Winner of the Reader’s Choice Award at the 2015 Christian Literary Awards

 

As a children’s book author, Regina’s goal is to cultivate children’s imagination through reading. If we never stop reading, we never stop learning and we will never stop imagining!

Darlene Dufour

Cenla Storytelling Storytellers Guild

Storytelling on her weekly radio program for ten years, Darlene discovered that adults were as eager as children to hear good stories. She has performed in the US, Australia, France, and South Africa. Seeds of Greatness is her second book.

Shaun Perkins is a poet, storyteller, freelance writer, barista, Oklahoma Arts Council Teaching Artist, workshop facilitator, rummage store owner and director/founder of the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Her detective novel written in verse, The Book with the Beacon Lights, is being published by Indian University Press and will be available in April 2017. Storytellers of the High Plans

Maria Isabel Vargas completed her Masters degree at West Texas A&M University in May, 2016. While at WTAMU, Isabel was a member of the Panhandle Storytelling Guild and one of the featured student performers in the 2016 WTAMU Storytelling Festival which featured David Holt.

 

She has a B.A. in Psychology from Autonomous University of Guerrero, Mexico. She is married to Epifanio, and they feel truly blessed to have their son Ibrahim (6). Maria Isabel has also been passionate about music performance since she was a child. She performed in a versatile band as a female vocalist for eight years in Mexico. And loves sharing her passion for music and communication with her son, and her community. She is proud of her Hispanic Heritage, and she feels blessed to possess a strong and joyful spirit. She thinks a smile can open a thousand doors.
