A native of New York’s Hudson Valley, Schuyler’s storytelling roots go deep into the mystical land that inspired Washington Irving. She grew up listening to the Dutch and German folktales of her ancestors and loves transporting audiences to the enchanted river and mountains of home.
Schuyler also embraces women’s’ stories, stories of peace, and nature. Her personal stories appeal to anyone from a less than perfect family. And, yes, she performs a captivating version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
In recent years, her work as a therapeutic recreation director and certified support group facilitator led to the creation of Five Smooth Stones, a storytelling retreat for people in bereavement, caregivers, and health care professionals, and Living (and Aging) Out Loud, a comprehensive, story-based training for long term care employees.
Regardless of the genre, Schuyler will “gently lead you into another world, and safely return you home, forever changed.”
