Paula Schlegel is one of the most honest people you will ever meet, but she can lie with the best of ’em. She hails from Slapout, Oklahoma. She went to a country grade school and spent her free time on horses and playing in the dirt. Because the family only had 2 channels on TV, stories were told on a daily basis. Some stories were told for entertainment and others for self preservation. Paula is the author of the Christmas story, The Christmas Potato.

Paula is a member of the Storytellers of the High Plains and the Tejas Storytelling Association and has performed on the festival stage twice and on the conference stage once. She is former member of the Tejas Storytelling Association Board of Directors. Paula is an Assistant Lecturer at West Texas A& M University in Canyon, Texas where she teaches public speaking, gender communication, leadership communication, nonverbal communication, and has taught persuasive theory. She is the recipient of several Texas A&M Excellence of Teaching awards and one WTAMU Faculty Excellence Award.
