dru woodsDru Woods, professional storyteller, provides programs for early childhood through Senior Adults. She conducts workshops for teachers and students, and tells stories in Libraries, Schools, and Festivals. Her stories are designed to motivate reading, instill an appreciation of literature, encourage positive character traits, and share a love of storytelling. Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Historical Tales, and personal tales are included in programs presented.

She has been in the field of Storytelling for 17 years following her career as a Middle School Speech and Theater teacher for many years. Music (a piano teacher for years), Puppetry(using much audience participation), and Drama are used to enhance the stories. After completing the workshop of TEACHING CORE CURRICULUM WITH THE ARTS from the Kennedy Center, she now includes that week-long workshop for second/third graders in her repertoire.

Being on the touring rosters for Young Audiences of Southeast Texas, Young Audiences of Northeast Texas, and Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council are delightful opportunities.
