Friday, March 13

10:45 am – noon – A Spring Break Concert for elementary age kids

Saturday, March 14

10:00 am – 11:15 am – Family Concert: A Birthday Party Story

Listen to great stories for the young and young at heart by David Claunch, Dalton Gregory, Kim Lehman,  Vivian Rutherford, Jiaan Powers and Spike, with Emcee Margaret Clauder.

Puppet Playtime (Youth 3-7)

This workshop will provide a time for learning about and experimentation with various types of puppets, basic puppetry how-to, and a brief time for creating simple puppets to take home.  Parents are invited to participate with their children!

Mel Davenport is a former Children’s Evangelist, Preschool Director, and public school Art Teacher who presently teaches Elementary Education majors at LeTourneau University in Longview how to have fun with storytelling, puppetry, music, and other creative play in their classrooms. Mel tells stories as often as possible, but also loves to teach others how to have imaginative playtime with puppets. luvandstories@aol.com

In this workshop, Mark will be using interactive stories, so his audiences becomes a part of the story. Come along with Mark on an engaging ride of tales. Action packed.

Mark began telling stories at an early age- mainly to avoid trouble. His stories are guaranteed to bring laughter and if you’re not careful a tear. 12:30 pm – 1:15 pm  – Pizza and Storyswaps 

Pizza in the Emily Fowler Library for youth workshop attendees and their parents: 
The younger aged kids (3-7) and their parents will be served pizza, drinks, and cookies at 12:30 pm in the Emily Fowler Library (Parents who prefer a box lunch may place their order at the registration table before 10:00 am.) The older aged kids (8 – 14) will be walked to Emily Fowler Library at 12:15 pm to join the others with eating pizza. Then, after lunch, Story Swaps will be from 12:45 to 1:15 pm.
