Story and Poetry Slams

Story Slam

Saturday, March 11 • 10:00-11:15am
(Free admission in the Denton Woman’s Club Building)

Theme: I Remember
Emcee: Michael Guinn

Story slams are events that celebrate storytelling by inviting participants to share brief stories with an audience. Participants deliver the stories verbally and stories are limited to 5 minutes. Then the judges will score them on a scale of 0.1 to 10 based on the originality, content, and performance of their story. You can use music or props.

After each teller tells their story, judges will be asked to write their scores down on a dry erase board and on the count of 1-2-3 give their scores. The winner will receive a cash prize and trophy.

Sign up to be in a drawing. Ten people will be chosen to participate.
